Cliff Jumping and Dad Jokes! | #BlessingBoysShow Ep. 02
Ever wondered how a simple act of yard work can lead to profound connections? Join us on the Blessing Boys Show as we share heartwarming adventures and meaningful experiences. Starting with a laugh from a cow joke and welcoming our special guest, London, we dive into the highs and lows of a recent football game against a gigantic Texas school, comparing the intensity of high school football across states. But it doesn't stop at sports; we recount a touching story of volunteering for a man with a broken leg, which spirals into an emotional tale of a young man coping with the loss of his brother.
Our journey takes an unexpected turn as we hit the road, cramped and eager, from North Carolina to Texas. This road trip wasn't just about the destination but the emotional rollercoaster of moving—saying goodbye to old friends and embracing new beginnings, like discovering the thrilling world of parkour. We highlight the unforgettable impact of community service, emphasizing the bonds formed and the blessings received from helping others, particularly a grieving man who found peace in our unexpected visit.
And who says yard work can't be fun? In our rapid-fire question session, we get a bit whimsical, imagining superpowers that could make tackling overgrown lawns a breeze—from laser vision to air-conditioning hands. We then take a nostalgic trip down memory lane, sharing family adventures in Hawaii and the Philippines, from swimming with whale sharks to cliff jumping. Our episode wraps up with fresh dad jokes and a heartfelt thank you to our listeners, teasing more fun and Judah's imminent return. Get ready for laughs, love, and life lessons in this episode!
yeah. So we went to like this it's not like even it's not a place, that's like a business, it's just this kind of like mountain of waterfalls and you just go cliff jumping down them with like just ropes attached to trees that you just swing on like.
Speaker 3:I jumped off a 40 foot cliff and he waterfied off a 35 foot cliff that was in the philippines station with him, and then the crazy thing was I asked him how old his brother was, because he was really young and he was the same age that I am, and so it was like the day he's having the hardest day of losing his brother. God leads us to go to their yard and help them, and he comes home from with Oli on that certain day, or we would have missed him and not been able to talk to him, and then find out that I'm the same age of the brother that he lost.
Speaker 3:All right, what do you call a cow who's too old to have babies anymore? An utter?
Speaker 1:disappointment.
Speaker 2:That was pretty fun.
Speaker 3:That should be the answer.
Speaker 1:An utter disappointment.
Speaker 3:Welcome to the Blessing Boys Show podcast. Officially, episode number two. Super excited to get into this with you guys. And unfortunately we don't have Judah with us today, but we do have another special guest and it's his first episode. We've got London with us.
Speaker 2:Yep First time.
Speaker 3:Say hello to the people. How's it feel to be on the Blessing Boys Show podcast?
Speaker 2:No, no, it's for the first time, you know. It's like you know.
Speaker 3:A little nervous. You know. Awesome, so cool, super excited to have you guys here. I think we're gonna have some fun today. We got some cool stuff to talk about, a little surprise at the end and, yeah, let's get into it. So what's been going on lately?
Speaker 1:Football for me. We had our first game this past Friday.
Speaker 3:Got clapped pretty bad but explain what clapped means for the people that don't know destroyed really bad.
Speaker 1:You know, we got beat like 41 0, but we were playing. We were playing a much, much, much bigger school than we were, they were massive. They had like 50 some players. We had a lot less than that, but, um, we tried our best, kept up like 50 yards being in texas.
Speaker 3:Like texas is known for football, it's like the football oh yeah, it's football what do you think? How would you compare it? I know you can't.
Speaker 1:I mean it's not like you've seen a lot of big schools and stuff like that play, but well, north and north carolina, like the biggest we got, for example, just the scale, because not a lot of people know so the way they measure school in most states is like A's. So if it's 1A it means it has like under 80 male students able to play sports or something like that and then able to play like football or whatever, and then they'd be 1A, and then if they have over 80 they're 2a or it's maybe 20 and then they go up and the biggest they have in north carolina is 4a is the biggest they have out of any school, which some of them are like 4a, double a or something like that. So they're a little bit bigger. But here they get to like 7, 8a and then like extended versions of those for how big they are.
Speaker 1:And one school just got approved for like a 97 million dollar field that's insane, which is that's like college, that's like the biggest stadium you'll find for like d2, d1a schools they're like good college, like I like my old one better yeah they'll go to college and they're like. My high school stadium was bigger than this it's a step down.
Speaker 3:That's crazy. Yeah, it's wild because I remember seeing I mean it was rare to even see a middle school team have a stadium back in North Carolina and hear the middle schools look like really nice high school stadiums, the high school stadiums look like college stadiums. So you guys are actually your home field is at a middle school, but I mean it was a turf field.
Speaker 1:It's a middle school. That was a middle school. I didn't even know that.
Speaker 3:I thought that was high school.
Speaker 1:It was big, they had good speakers and stuff. It was massive, big stadium with turf.
Speaker 2:The sign for the scoreboard was pretty small, though. Can you see that? Yeah, it did have a tiny scoreboard. It did have a tiny Like Georgetown.
Speaker 1:they have a Jumbotron at theirs.
Speaker 3:Mm-hmm.
Speaker 1:And it's pretty big.
Speaker 3:Yeah. So what did you think of the last yard we did?
Speaker 2:That was a good one A lot of like dropping off the sticks and then coming back though.
Speaker 3:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Took a little time though.
Speaker 3:A lot of people don't? A lot of people don't know when we're. Occasionally we'll have yards set up, like for the prior, for the next week or whatever. Like maybe we'll have an idea of where we're going to go or maybe be even get an email or be in communication with a person. Um, so we know, we have it set up. And then there are other times that we're we're literally that morning driving around just praying, lord, you know, lead us to the right yard. And so last week we actually, uh, we're driving around and we found a couple of yards and, uh, one of them didn't work out. The person was understandably a little bit skeptical of someone showing up at their house and saying hey, I want to mow your yard for free.
Speaker 3:So that didn't work out, but it actually brought us to the right place, which was really cool. We got to help a guy who, at the release of this podcast, the video is out. So he actually broke his foot or his leg at work and his yard was just like out of control. So that was super cool. Yeah, uh, to help him out, and the weather was a little bit cooler from the previous week, which was like 105 degrees so yeah, it was so bad yeah it was that there was only.
Speaker 1:That was the week. It was 105 and we had football practice after and it was so hot it was, there was no breeze whatsoever.
Speaker 3:Yeah, it was and it's pretty, pretty bad, the texas heat. So last episode we got to talk to, I got to talk to the other boys about, uh, just their favorite episode. You know favorite episodes, favorite yards, special moments like that london, can you think of a yard that was your top yard or your top three or anything like that?
Speaker 2:You know I like the yard where we filled up the ditch in front of the street, the one where it was like a multi-day yard, you know, with the Talking about the three-day one with the lady. Yeah, we missed a little bit of it when Judah was working on it to go to a friend's birthday party which one was that it's not ringing a bell.
Speaker 3:You give me more, more details about it's a lady it's a pretty big video.
Speaker 2:Yeah, with uh and his husband was like couldn't do the yard, her husband I'm not sure.
Speaker 3:I'm not sure.
Speaker 2:I remember, oh and mitch had to cut up the tree in the backyard.
Speaker 3:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, yeah. Now I remember, you guys were playing paintball, right you?
Speaker 2:went to the birthday party.
Speaker 3:Yeah, you went to the birthday party. Judah started on it. We cleared out that giant bush in the front yard, yes, and then I know what you're talking about.
Speaker 1:and then Mitch and Rodney came and they helped us cut up that massive tree in the back like is it the one that?
Speaker 2:you said uh, we get like a hundred dollars if it got over a million views or something like that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember that like months months later we were like, hey, dad, remember that 100 deal, yeah because it made it and then the london had to go inside and use the person's bathroom and he was just like it was, because you just look, we're all like covered in grass and you just have to like walk into someone's house and use the bathroom.
Speaker 3:It's just awkward that's something that people don't think about a lot like in people maybe people who do yard work or in landscaping understand. But sometimes you're just out in the field, you're out in a yard and you can't. I mean what if you?
Speaker 1:yeah, it wasn't. You don't want to walk into, it wasn't one number one. We'll just say that.
Speaker 3:You don't want to just like knock on someone's door and walk in their house covered in grass either. So like, what do you do, you know? So we had to. We got a bucket. Now, we had to get a bucket, but it was an official camping bucket. It's called a. It's like Luggable Lou or something like that is the name of it, not sponsored. But yeah, it's been an interesting process.
Speaker 1:I haven't used it yet, just so I've. Judah has used it every yard multiple times.
Speaker 2:It's been used a lot. We have to like go in the trailer, and so it's like 115 and they okay like humid, and then you have to sit in there with, like the hot air.
Speaker 1:That's like yes, it's like yeah, and thankfully I haven't had to use it yet. I'll hold it forever. That's, that's, that's the rule before the yard. Thankfully, I haven't had to use it yet.
Speaker 3:I'll hold it forever Before the yard. That's the rule. Before the yard.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Sometimes after a big Chipotle lunch it's kind of hard to yeah, and we eat Chipotle for lunch there a lot, and that'll flush you out pretty quick.
Speaker 2:Double beans.
Speaker 3:Double beans Guacamole. Yeah, double bean burrito with tequila, so London we talked to the boys last time about kind of what everyone knows that ties into football, judah's into football, he plays quarterback and stuff like that. What about?
Speaker 2:you, I do football, but I'm mainly parkour, parkour.
Speaker 3:Did we talk about that last time? I think we might have briefly hit it.
Speaker 2:I think we mentioned it on the channel before. Yeah, what is parkour?
Speaker 1:It's like kind of like.
Speaker 2:It's like ballet but is parkour. It's like kind of like. It's like ballet but it's like kind of getting to to one spot to the other world, doing like flips in between and stuff, kind of okay.
Speaker 3:So I would define it as it's got like it almost reminds me well, it reminds me of how crossfit has elements of different sports, right. So parkour would take like some elements of gymnastics and some elements of like other like agility sports, and then and then it would take them kind of out of the gym and into the street, so it's almost like street street gymnastics yeah, exactly like in my, like most stuntmen you see they're basically just doing parkour.
Speaker 1:They do like where you'll see a giant ledge or whatever, or they'll do a front flip in between buildings and you're like you didn't need to do that front flip, but they're like we're doing it because that's you're doing it in the most creative way possible to get from one point to another, like you said.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I didn't realize how big it was until I seen.
Speaker 1:I think it was crazy.
Speaker 3:They had a bunch of these buildings and it wasn't. It wasn't like a course that they necessarily set up.
Speaker 2:They used, like the existing buildings yeah that were there and then, yeah, they might just set up a couple bars or something, something like you know what people can picture that like in greece.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they might just set up a couple bars or something. People can picture that like in greece, where they have just when you picture greece and they have the blue and white buildings that are all coming down kind of like the side of this mountain onto a beach yeah, and they're like, and they're just like stacked down ultimate tag.
Speaker 3:Sometimes you know speaking of that, did you know that french fries weren't originally made in france, because they were made in greece? Yeah, they were made in greece I got that one yeah, you know, I think you kind of know all my jokes, yeah yeah I don't know why I just squeaked a minute ago talking about parkour?
Speaker 2:do you hear about french fries?
Speaker 1:speaking parkour. Yeah, you need a french fries lady absolutely so.
Speaker 3:Yeah, so tell me about how you guys cause I actually had a conversation with Judy yesterday about the transition from North Carolina to Texas, so a lot of people know that we've made a huge move as a family and, to be honest, it was. I know it was tough for you guys, having to leave a lot of what was familiar in North Carolina. How's that? How's that process been? Let me ask you this How's that process been with what you expected it would be to now be in here for two plus months?
Speaker 2:It was definitely better than I thought it wasn't terrible. The drive here was pretty bad, though, which I didn't have to do.
Speaker 1:I went to.
Speaker 2:Florida. Went in the car and drove all the way to Texas from Northolina and it's like super cramped in there. I was like I can't wait to get there.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's a long. I didn't think about that. That probably made you excited to get, to get to texas, even though you're leaving everybody because you're like then we can get out of the car yeah, and we brought.
Speaker 3:We didn't want to like, stop at a bunch of restaurants, so we brought a full cooler. We had that, we had bags. Just we had a lot of stuff to bring, so it wasn't like you had a ton of room in the back seat we didn't use the bathroom as much as like. It's back like a couple times yeah, well, that was because of the five gallon bucket. No, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah in the truck and just no.
Speaker 2:We saw people driving by the windows while the truck is moving, jump from the truck into the trailer and use it parkour.
Speaker 1:That's why he's been training, for it is for that, oh that's right.
Speaker 3:That's right, yeah, so it's better than you thought. How is it better than you thought?
Speaker 2:you know, I just haven't been outside as, like the leaving friends, you know, and then like the surroundings here they have a bunch of stuff. You know, this is when I started parkour and stuff, so it's been pretty nice yeah so, other than the heat, the heat's like crazy the heat, yeah, yeah I can't wait for, like winter and stuff winter's gonna be great.
Speaker 1:It's only gonna be like 60 degrees.
Speaker 2:I can't wait for winter.
Speaker 1:You know, I get away a little sweater, it's like he's like finally get to wear a sweatshirt and I'm like yeah, I mean, that's really the only time here you can wear for like two, a two month window where you can wear a sweatshirt yeah yeah so I remember most people probably don't know, but when I was, uh, 15, yeah, 15 years old, that's when I moved from new york state to north carolina, new york, yeah, so I had a very similar experience.
Speaker 2:But you guys actually have some friends that are are moving with you, or with us, or coming to the state as well, so that's pretty cool.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah, that's awesome. Um, yeah. So tell me London, what, um, what do you think in this whole journey over the last couple of years has been the most impactful for you with doing these yards and stuff like that, and what you, what you've seen, what you've learned oh it's like been nice to like the reactions and blessing the people in the neighborhood on like not having to like wake up that morning and worry about the yard next to you, worry about your own yard and like just the blessing of people.
Speaker 2:It's been nice yeah, cool.
Speaker 3:Is there any one that was like your favorite reaction or something like that?
Speaker 2:um, yeah, this last one's been pretty good. And the lady, oh, the one where it's just me and you. Which one was that? Remember, and it wasn't crazy, but it was just me and you and it was the one he. He had a couple tattoos on his face and he told you about his brother.
Speaker 1:He was the same age, oh the one you told us about where he was like. Where was the guy from? It was something about that how him and dad had some way where they were like.
Speaker 2:Was he from New York? His ages were the same.
Speaker 3:No, his brother had just passed away. Yeah, so what happened with that was I went to the house. He wasn't home. His wife was home and she answered the door and obviously you could tell, by the way the yard was, that they needed help. But she didn't tell me any of the story. She just was like, yeah, that would be great. And so we just did the yard like normal and almost I mean we were probably 10 minutes from finishing and he showed up. He came home and he was like this is amazing, like number one, why would you guys do this? And so we got to talk to him and stuff like that, and he's like you're not going to believe this. He's like but I just lost my brother, um and I think a couple of weeks ago, and he said, actually since a couple of weeks or a couple of months ago, and he said I've been doing all right, but since I lost him, today was actually the hardest day that I've had.
Speaker 3:And so I was talking to my boss at work and, uh, and I think he let him go home early or something like that, just cause he was having a really tough time, cause he has a free life, yeah, and then his wife called him and said that same day where he's like, and he was a believer, so he was talking to the Lord, he was praying about how tough his day was, and then his wife calls him and was like these guys just randomly showed up and they're, you know, doing the whole yard, and so we got to have that conversation with him. And then the crazy thing was is I asked him how old his brother was, because he was really young and he was the same age that I am, and so it was like the day he's having the hardest day of losing his brother.
Speaker 3:God leads us to go to their yard and help them and he comes home from work early on that certain day, or we would have missed him and not be able to talk to him, and then find out that I'm the same age of the brother that he lost and we had this really good conversation, we got to pray with him and and stuff like that. So it was like it was just super encouraging. Encouraging, but yeah, so it's cool. It's like, when I start to think about it, you almost forget sometimes how many yards and interactions that we've had Of things like that, that it's like, okay, one or two of them, and you're like, wow, that was a weird. You know, that was a pretty crazy coincidence. But yeah, as we're starting to see, it's almost now like every yard or every other yard we're having those interactions with people, just like the one that we had a few weeks ago with the guy who came up on the yard that we were doing and he was like, hey, I saw your truck, tell me this. This just popped in my head.
Speaker 2:So we went to eat at like a burger place last night I just thought about that, right when you said that.
Speaker 3:That's weird. We all started thinking at the same time, something you said, so I I feel like it started to happen when we were traveling. We a lot of people would stop in gas stations and come up and talk to us, yeah and um, say they follow our videos and stuff. And then we got to texas and we started seeing a lot more people kind of flagging us down on the on the road and stuff like that. But we were at a restaurant last night. Tell me what happened.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so I have a fan now Just one His name's also Ty and he came up. He's like there, he's talking, he's like Buzzing Boys, he's like I saw your truck outside. I'm like there's no way. Then I saw you guys walk in here and he was like really excited and he came up to us and then he walked away and I was like yes, I was like I have a fan yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3:No, that was cool. So we have those little acts, uh, little interactions here and there, but that was or the lady at kava who like yeah she started crying yeah yeah, that was right when we first first got here like right, right, when we moved down here when do people come up to dude perfect and are like because you changed my life and start breaking up.
Speaker 2:Maybe when we were moving texas, so many people stopped us. I like think about like the top youtubers and stuff like how many times? A day, do they get stopped?
Speaker 1:yeah, we don't even have a million subscribers and they and we get stopped.
Speaker 2:I'm like wow, they must, like 12 times a day, just get stopped on this. Like just gets on. Like, hey, I watch you.
Speaker 1:It hasn't yet, but I wonder if that would get annoying at some point. I've always wondered that.
Speaker 2:Would that actually be like an?
Speaker 1:inconvenience.
Speaker 3:I mean, I think it's kind of what you sign up for when you put yourself out there. But you got to think with YouTube a lot of times what happens is people are watching you so much that they begin and you felt you know this because you watch other YouTubers and you feel like you know them after you've watched them for two years. Do you know what I'm saying? So when you see them in person you're like, oh my goodness. But then you feel like you already know them.
Speaker 1:So it's a lot easier to come up and they have no clue who you are and it's like awkward Cause you're like tell them about their life and then they're like, yeah.
Speaker 3:Yeah, so that's cool. Well, let's shift gears. I got a couple of questions for you guys that I want to throw at you sporadically to see if you can answer them, to see if we can answer them. They're pretty easy questions, I'm sure you can answer them.
Speaker 2:But I'm just curious.
Speaker 3:Sorry London, we'll start with you couple rapid fire questions London what's your favorite snack? Cheetos, cheetos. You didn't say it didn't say what Laquitos it's like these knock off H-E-B.
Speaker 2:They're so good.
Speaker 1:They're so good. I thought you were going to say we were talking about that the other day.
Speaker 3:Right, well, you kind of gave it away. I'm going to ask you what's your favorite snack.
Speaker 1:Laquitos, it's definitely Laquitos. I want to shout out to them. They want to sponsor us. We limited lockitos but they're, they're like these, just like, not like, uh, uh. They're basically takis, like the ones where they're like wrapped like the chip, that are talking they actually do taste like a mixture of takis and cheetos they taste like takis and cheetos combined they're just a little spicy yeah, he's not a spy.
Speaker 1:I love spicy, like for like the other day I accidentally we got, we went to atb and there were, there were these, there was this pack. It was like what you get raspberries in, like those little packets that you just pop open, and they were, uh, unlabeled. So I have no clue what kind of pepper they are and I buy them because they just look good, because I want to try another pepper, because I eat jalapenos. When I eat stuff, I'll have a jalapeno beside me and I'll just bite out of it because I really like spicy.
Speaker 1:I don't understand it, yeah I don't know, I think I've kind of numb my taste buds a little too much and then I ate the pepper and the dad's like what kind of those? Let me take a picture and look it up. And then he looked it up and it was a Carolina Reaper, the world's hottest pepper.
Speaker 2:And I just ate it with lunch. It has a little spice to it. I was like it's got a little kick to it.
Speaker 1:So when it comes to spicy it, you should be a salesperson for it. So, likitos, this is a good one.
Speaker 3:If you could have any superpower while mowing the yards, what would it be?
Speaker 2:While mowing the yards.
Speaker 3:Okay, yeah, it's not just in general. You only get that superpower while you're mowing overgrown yards.
Speaker 2:Strength, I mean so much better you pick up giant sticks and just like.
Speaker 1:Control the temperature of how cold or hot you are.
Speaker 2:If I could make up a superpower, I'd be able to see animals wherever they are.
Speaker 1:Air conditioning hands.
Speaker 3:That would be thermal vision. So if you had thermal vision, you could actually see in the bushes, you could see if there's a snake over there it would all be wet from the heat.
Speaker 1:Can you see cold-blooded animals? I thought that was something. Can you see cold-blooded animals on a heat? I don't know. I feel like there was something about that where you might not be able to.
Speaker 3:I mean, I think they produce some sort of heat. Just they're like ice cold all the time.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 3:I think they're just probably closer to what the temperature is outside, so it might be harder to see them.
Speaker 2:But yeah, okay, that's interesting. Strength would be pretty good though.
Speaker 3:Yeah, super strength. Then you can just like rip trees out of the ground. That will be pretty good. You could just tear them out of the ground.
Speaker 2:Walk it over to the pile.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah. You're like oh, I don't want to walk all the way to the truck to put stuff in the back of it.
Speaker 2:So you just lift the truck, or be like Edward Scissorhands, you know, just clip the cut.
Speaker 3:Oh, weed, eater hands.
Speaker 1:I thought about it, that's what I'm going to say Weed eater feet, because then, as you walk, you could just Feet eaters Wait no. Oh, what are you? Um? But yeah, I would do weed eater on your weed eaters, like on your ankles or something like that, because then as you walk you could just weed eat them as you walk with super strength.
Speaker 2:It's faster, probably to weedy and it won't feel like you're hearing it and you're like carrying anything.
Speaker 1:So or maybe no laser vision. You could just cut the grass like that, like getting the level you want to slice it? Oh yeah, just like get down and then like, yeah, then you could cut down the trees and everything. And then london's got a super strength I cut down the trees.
Speaker 2:London uses super strength. You can like move up with your mind telepathy.
Speaker 1:Is that what it's called? Yeah, pick up a tree that's a little weird yeah, I'm a super laser, all right.
Speaker 3:So what do you think, knowing Judah? He's not here, obviously, but knowing him, what do you think? He would choose something?
Speaker 1:weird, something really way out there like super smell, probably like a removable nose, where it turns into like a weed eater or something like that, something weird or no, where you can turn your arms into any tool you want, like you can imagine what tool you want. He would do that like the combi system for your arm, yeah, like inspector gadget or no, where you can turn your arms into any tool you want, like you can imagine what tool you want.
Speaker 3:He would do that. Okay, like the combi system for your arm?
Speaker 1:Yeah, Like inspector gadget. Like that, but with your arms and stuff.
Speaker 2:Yeah. Make food. All the Chipotle burritos you want, yeah.
Speaker 3:Yeah, all right. Next question what's your favorite thing to do outside other than Mo? That's tough.
Speaker 2:Outside other than Mo. That's tough Parkour stuff. That's pretty fun, you know. Yeah flips, I guess. What is it Whip sticking?
Speaker 3:You need to do so the last time. You remember the last time you guys did a flip at the end of the video. It was just him. You couldn't do one yet Now you can backflip.
Speaker 1:Now we can both do backflips. We can do one of those ones where you do them in opposite directions.
Speaker 2:Now since doing parkour I can stick backflips, but I take a couple tries, you know, to get it where I can do it yeah, but not too many.
Speaker 1:It's only like a couple yeah.
Speaker 3:Cool, all right, two more questions. We're about to get very sentimental. What's your favorite thing to do with dad?
Speaker 1:Hmm.
Speaker 2:Well, I mean, there's a lot of stuff I could like there's a lot of things you could say you go first London okay, I would say, you know, just doing what I like with you, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3:So like or course, or like whatever, like you know, what I mean, like we went out back with like you're saying so, like, whatever, like you know what I mean.
Speaker 2:Like we went out back with like you're saying so, like a couple of years ago you got into photography, like photo taking and stuff, yeah, and so we went out and took some photos, that kind of stuff.
Speaker 3:Cool. So basically changes with your, whatever your current like hobby is, or whatever you're interested in. What about you?
Speaker 1:That's probably what I was going to say. Whatever you enjoy at the time, like I did, like whenever, we did, we went to like we were in pittsburgh and we were walking by their football stadium and we went to it and there was an open door just to the field.
Speaker 1:We we didn't mean to like it was open so we were fine or whatever. But we went in there and we just walked around the stadium like a full circle around it and then found this little open door and went in there and then walked out to where the field is and everything like that and that was fun like doing that stuff. I like, like just walking around stadiums or whatever, or like watching the bill's play or something like that just kind of exploring, yeah, yeah, just honestly, yeah, just walking around.
Speaker 1:Just walking around, I mean walking around like cities or whatever why?
Speaker 3:don't you tell them what happened? You're speaking of walking around. Tell them what happened to judah last night, what happened to you on the ripstick.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's why I was there.
Speaker 3:First tell them what a ripstick is.
Speaker 2:Ripstick is a two-wheeled skateboard basically, it goes like this, it goes like so it's like goes out and then thin and then out.
Speaker 1:It's like an eight, your two feet go and then you like, go like that it's shaped like a dog bone right, it's shaped like a dog bone, yeah, and it's on each side On the pads and you have to shake back and forth to get it to go forward, and then a thin thing, so you kind of put your feet on it and then you wiggle. It's like surfing almost, or snowboarding but with two wheels.
Speaker 2:What did he try?
Speaker 3:to do.
Speaker 2:So you have to wiggle to move, so you need, like wiggle room. And then he tried to go in this concrete thing that's like this. So when he tried to wiggle, I guess he went off and there was like this ditch full of like this metal barred concrete.
Speaker 1:It was like and of course, he decides to do it right there. Yeah, so he wiggles and like.
Speaker 2:There's so many more of those where it's just at least on a grass or something. But he decides to go there and he starts going and he falls into the ditch and hits his hip on concrete.
Speaker 3:I'm like it was the worst ditch ever.
Speaker 1:It was full of like metal and it was like three feet wide, so he could have done it anywhere and like jagged concrete.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I was like what are you doing? But yeah, but anyway he recovered.
Speaker 1:He's doing great. He's in the ER right now. That's why he's, that's why London's here, yeah.
Speaker 3:You know so yeah, so last question All right, If you could travel and you guys have anywhere in the world, where would you go and why London, Hawaii?
Speaker 1:Back to Hawaii.
Speaker 3:Swimming, so it's the same for both of you?
Speaker 2:Yeah, hawaii was amazing. Well, that was just the best because there were like a bunch of kids, so like when we went there, we just like lived there in an apartment for like six months for missionary reasons and there was a base. We could go anywhere we wanted with the base. So it was a giant food court, a lost and found place where you can visit a bunch of stuff.
Speaker 1:It's almost like a college campus for families.
Speaker 2:The beach and swimming. So let me give a little context.
Speaker 3:So before we went on the mission field, we trained with an organization that was basically preparing us to travel for missions and that was based in Kona, hawaii, right, so they had like a missionary base and they had all kinds of cool stuff on there.
Speaker 2:they had you know, just like you said, they got a basketball court and a park and a pool and a cafe and all that stuff it was like. It was like that's true the equivalent of a maybe like d2 college campus, almost, but for families and stuff, and it was like a little apartment because it was a missionary base so we could like just walk all christian missionaries walking around so the kids could just go around and do whatever and we play, like in fact we play at night.
Speaker 1:We would all the kids would go up and play a game, and so I said that was best yeah, so we're running, we're running around these little apartments or whatever and uh playing like tag or whatever at midnight and stuff and we lit our field trips like because we yeah, you can tell you guys are siblings because you're talking at the same time. Yeah, I'll say one one at a time, boys, one at a time we would take field trips because it was my, my age group that took field trips.
Speaker 2:I was stuck with the young kids.
Speaker 1:One of them was a little bit too young for that at the time, but my school thing I was with took field trips and we'd take one once every week or once every other week or whatever, and our field trips wouldn't be to a museum, it would be to lava tubes and spending a night on a volcano.
Speaker 2:Or going to Black Sand Beaches. They got in a boat. Wait, wait you.
Speaker 3:You saw a tiger shark in a volcano no, no, yes, actually, no, we did.
Speaker 1:It was in the volcano like this, just swimming in the lava, and then it jumped out and took one of the kids and took one of the kids. His name was steven. We miss him he was.
Speaker 2:No, he was a middle child yeah, he was a middle, no one but they, like they went on a boat and there was, like this tiger shark that just swam beside them yes, swam this utter boat.
Speaker 1:It was crazy.
Speaker 1:And then judah probably had the best because he we had every, most of the people there who had young kids, so he would get babysit and took him to the beach every day yeah, he was like four or five and he would hang out with these like they were all like 19, 20 years old and they were like nannies who would keep like the younger, younger kids while the parents were getting like schooled or whatever on how to be missionary and everything, and they would just go around doing whatever they wanted to do on the island and bring along the kids.
Speaker 1:So they're swimming. Judah, we're in school and Judah's over there swimming with dolphins, surfing and like just exploring the entire island surfing dolphins in volcanoes exactly yeah. Judah was actually part of the rescue crew that found Stephen.
Speaker 2:Where were we for Ty's birthday when we swam with the that was the Philippines.
Speaker 1:Philippines was cool too. It was like it was like a getaway about that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, when we swam with whale sharks, yeah.
Speaker 3:I remember that.
Speaker 1:That was wild. Yeah and then the same day we did cliff jumping, or was it the day after?
Speaker 3:I totally forgot about the whale sharks, though we were kind of nervous to put Judah in the water at the time because he was like three or four.
Speaker 2:I'm pretty sure he stayed in the boat because he didn't know. They were big and dad got out I think judah went in for like a couple, and there was a bunch of them too. Oh yeah, they're like dozens 10 because they were all.
Speaker 1:They were like all coming in and out, yeah, like this in this little world. You guys have lived a pretty crazy life, so yeah, but I thought it was cool because we weren't going on like the normal. We didn't do any like the normal stuff. You'll go to hawaii and do these like things. We were living in like a one room, like apartment or whatever and getting to see like the local stuff.
Speaker 1:And then when we lived in the philippines, we were in also around one room apartment, so we're going there and instead of going to like the rich fancy area we were in the poor areas and get to see the cool things that the local resorts yeah so we went to like this it's not like even it's not a place, that's like a business, it's just this kind of like mountain of waterfalls and you just go cliff jumping down them with like just ropes attached to trees that you just swing on Like I jumped off a 40 foot cliff and he waterfall and he jumped off a 35 foot cliff.
Speaker 1:That was in the Philippines. No life vest, nothing. It was no rules, it was just you, just do it.
Speaker 3:It was awesome. Yeah, there's many countries you've been to where it's like rules are out the window for that. Like driving especially, yeah, so awesome. Well, my favorite part of the show we're going to rate some dad jokes you ready, I got some fresh ones for you too, because last time you kind of guessed them easily.
Speaker 2:All right, so you're going to rate them. So basically, we'll go back and forth.
Speaker 3:The rules are, we'll go back and forth. I'm going to say the joke and you just let me know what you think. It was One to ten, one being the worst joke you've ever heard in your life. Ten.
Speaker 2:We're going to be a tough crowd, extremely.
Speaker 3:There's five bucks if we guess it, if we guess the answer to the to get a couple more that you couldn't guess I'm going to show mercy. Why don't oysters share?
Speaker 1:their pearls Because they're shellfish. I've never heard that one $5.
Speaker 3:I never agreed to any bet. You guys do that all the time You'd be like $5, $10. I'm like I did not agree to that?
Speaker 2:How about we have a one joke guess max, so our limit is guessing one. How about you just rate my jokes?
Speaker 3:Yeah, what was it? What do you think? One to 10.
Speaker 2:Oh, so 10 the best. Yeah, I'm going to give it a six, six.
Speaker 3:I'll do a four. I feel like I've heard a lot of versions of that joke. Tough crowd like I've heard a lot of versions of that, a lot of versions of that joke. All right, this one's good. What did the big flower say to the little flower?
Speaker 2:I'm gonna be starting with petals I thought the exact same thing.
Speaker 1:I don't know you ready oh, wait, wait, wait oh, there you go okay, ready, hey, there.
Speaker 2:Bud oh, I like that I've never heard that one. I was like thinking of like baby or something that's like an eight for me.
Speaker 1:I like that one a lot okay, all right, one to ten seven. Okay, I give it an eight.
Speaker 3:I really like that. Oh my goodness, I should have saved that one for last man. I don't want to go down. All right, all right, number three, I got five total. Okay, why did the coffee file a police report?
Speaker 1:let me think of this, because it got mugged.
Speaker 2:Golly, yes he's like share some of your wisdom.
Speaker 1:I'll give that an eight thousand okay, I like that one a lot too. I'll give it a seven awesome.
Speaker 3:Well, they only get better from here. So this one, this one you're not going to be able to guess. Okay, all right. What do you call a cow who is too old to have babies anymore? A milk dud?
Speaker 1:An utter disappointment. That was pretty fun. An utter.
Speaker 3:That should be the answer.
Speaker 1:It should be the answer, but I feel like either of those Listen, listen, ready, ready for it, I'm milked dead Decaffeinated.
Speaker 3:Decaffeinated.
Speaker 2:I'll give that a nine too, I'll give that a nine too.
Speaker 1:That was, I feel, like all those answers could have been.
Speaker 3:I'm milked dead a lot. Grand finale you ready.
Speaker 2:I haven't guessed one yet.
Speaker 3:What did the horse say after he tripped?
Speaker 1:I can't giddy up. I've fallen, and I can't giddy up Hell.
Speaker 3:I've fallen, and I can't giddy up.
Speaker 1:I knew that in Ferdinand I'll give that a six.
Speaker 3:That's from Ferdinand In one of the horses falling he's like.
Speaker 1:I've fallen and I can't giddy up, oh, okay. All right, all right, that's a good movie. That is a good. I haven't seen that in forever. No, yeah, I'll give that a six.
